So apply for a position as an HVAC installler. You’ll earn about $10-$12 and hour plus overtime (you’ll be working more than 40 hrs a week in this weather). That will bring in alot of cash. If you apply for a roofer postion. Good luck…(personally)it’s too hot to withstand the roof heat. As you stated earlier, you want to support your daughter, so you will have to accept the downfall of being a roofer in the summer. Remember, your motivation and dedication to your goals (support your daughter) and you will pull through. I don’t think roofing jobs perform background checks either.
Since you have your own vehicle, you can place an ad in your local newspapers. State in your ad that you are a handyman and give a brief description of the handywork you do. This money will be under the table and you don’t have to worry about taxes eating up your check.
There’s also Labor Ready. You can fill out an application with them to work at a variety of places. Your supervisor experience can come in handy when applying at Labor Ready.
Finally, you can work with a friend or someone who owns their own business and they can pay you under the table. Small businesses are always looking for ways to cut costs. I know that construction pays well, and most places overlook criminal histories.

You would have a difficult time getting employed being a felon three times. If it is deep in your heart, knowing you made grave mistakes there is still hope to live a better life.
Seeing you are crafted in HVAC and a handyman, I suggest that you start your own business in one or both of these trades. You will need to register with the state and be insured. It will not cost much to do this, either. By doing this, you can avoid the embarassment of being turned down by an employer.

I would look into a jobs program in your area,, in Ohio it’s called J.O.B.S. they help people build resumes, look for work, etc.. I’m sure all states have a similar program! With your past history , you need to find a break and prove that your a hard worker, and a changed man! Food service/kitchen environments. If you can cut it in the kitchen, the chefs and servers don’t care where or what you’ve done. It’s all about respect and pulling your weight. If you can do that, they will respect you and you’ll do fine. I love kitchens, they really don’t care about your past, just how good you do your job when you are there.

Telemarketing is one way to get instant money. You may have to try several before you hit the one that is right for you. It is not a career. It is for income untio you find something better.
