HVAC unit making “knocking metal” noise when heat is on and when it goes off?

what could be the cause of this?
We can hear it under the house even tho of course the HVAC unit is outside…..it’s like a knocking noise (just once) of metal against metal, with a slight echo……
What could be the cause of this?
We have a 1 yr warranty on the house, as we just bought it in August….is this worthy of a service call? what might they do to it?
I dont know who the contractor is, as it’s an updated 50yr old house, made modern. Is this something that the house warranty that the sellers bought, will cover?

I have a question for experienced HVAC professionals?

I live in Las Vegas which as you know has low-humidity, high heat temperatures in the summer. I would like to upgrade my 20 year old split system A/C system, which is a 3 ton, Seer 10 unit. I wanted to upgrade to a SEER 13 unit, but I ALSO want to get a higher tonnage, like maybe a 3.5 or 4 ton unit. I had a “professional” HVAC company come out and service my A/C unit, and I asked him this. He said that I can upgrade to SEER 13, but he said I CAN NOT upgrade the tonnage without major expense. He explained that I would have to put more air vents in my house and possibly a larger air intake. I am wondering if this is really true because my parents had a company replace a 2.5 ton with a 3.5 ton when theirs died because they wanted stronger cooling, and they made NO other modifications to their A/C system, and the new system cools down their house MUCH faster, and runs less. This goes against what my HVAC guy is telling me. They also live in here in Las Vegas. So which is true, is it a MUST that pay extra $$$ to have extra vents installed, or can I just swap mine out for a larger one, with no other modifications???

I spent a ton of money, time, and hardwork and sacrafice to get a degree. It seems its pretty much worthless right now. The only interviews I’m getting are for customer service jobs paying like $10 an hour and everyone else interviewing generally has degrees as well. Today I went to a group interview, 9 people with degrees trying to get a job paying $10 answering the phone for a HVAC company. I’m really mad I wasted my money on college.
